This option provides comprehensive midwifery care with a planned home delivery.
Includes everything listed under prenatal care plus up to six weeks postpartum care. Your midwife will be on call for you 24/7 starting at 37 weeks. Then they will come to your home when you are in active labor to monitor you and baby throughout the entire process.
The midwife will confirm the baby's position, listen to the baby's heartbeat regularly, access your vitals, and provide education and support. We also bring all equipment for birth including emergency medications and supplies to resuscitate the baby, if needed.
You will have both a midwife and a well trained assistant at your birth along with anyone else you choose. Your midwife stays 2-6 hours postpartum to care for you and your family. They will perform a head-to-toe newborn assessment, assess and repair any lacerations, and support you with your newborn feeding plan.
Then your space is cleaned and you and your family are tucked into bed for a nice long nap. The midwife will return to your home within 24-48 hrs for your first postpartum visit.
